Welcome to my personal webpage! My name is Sundiata Omowale, and I am an experienced educator, leader, and lifelong learner with over 20 years of expertise in teaching, curriculum development, and instructional leadership.
My passion lies in empowering students and educators to achieve excellence while fostering a deep understanding of history, cultural awareness, critical thinking, innovative and culturally responsive teaching.
Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, I bring a lifetime of dedication to education, leadership, and service. A proud veteran, I served as a Staff Sergeant (SSG) in the U.S. Military, where I honed the discipline and leadership skills that continue to guide me today.
Additionally, my Master’s Degree in Social Studies Education from Georgia State University has strengthened my expertise in education and instructional leadership.
Outside of my professional life, I am an avid fisherman, gardener, who loves to read, cook, travel, collect sports cards, genealogy research and beekeeping.
Along with my beautiful wife and three lovely children, I use these things to help me create inspiration and balance in the natural world.
Driven by a passion for fostering academic excellence and personal growth, I am committed to creating opportunities for students to thrive and preparing them for success in a globally connected world.
Throughout my career, I have served as a department chair, lead teacher, academic coach, Advanced Placement course instructor, adjunct professor, guiding both students and teachers toward success.
I specialize in designing, engaging, standards-based curricula and integrating innovative instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners. My work extends beyond the classroom pedagogy, as I have coordinated international study trips across continents, encouraging students to explore global perspectives and develop as culturally conscious citizens since 2012.
I am also the creator of http://GeorgiaSocialStudies.org, an interactive platform designed to support student growth through targeted resources and personalized learning tools. This is one initiative that shows my commitment to leveraging technology to enhance learning and drive meaningful outcomes.
